H.E. Moussa Saleh Batraki Visits Microhaem Scientifics during of his Official Regional Engagements

Microhaem Scientifics was honored to host a high-level delegation from the Secretariat of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), led by H.E. Moussa Saleh Batraki, Secretary-General, during his official visit to the Republic of Uganda. The Group Managing Director, Dr. Cedric Akwesigye, welcomed him to the company head office in Ntinda.

During the visit, we showcased Uganda’s growing capacity in the research, development, and manufacturing of high-quality in vitro diagnostics, demonstrating how African-led innovation can strengthen resilient health systems and reduce dependence on imported medical technologies.

Our discussions explored opportunities for collaboration in diagnostics, research and development, technology transfer, local manufacturing, and scientific capacity building to expand equitable access to quality healthcare solutions across African, Caribbean, and Pacific countries.

The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of Uganda and the OACPS to advancing health security through innovation, local manufacturing, and strategic partnerships. As Uganda continues to position itself as a regional hub for life sciences and biomanufacturing, partnerships such as these are essential to accelerating sustainable healthcare, fostering scientific excellence, and advancing the continent’s vision for health sovereignty.

We thank H.E. Moussa Saleh Batraki and the OACPS Secretariat for their visit and look forward to building impactful partnerships that transform innovation into improved health outcomes across the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) region.

Together, we are demonstrating that world-class health innovations can be designed, developed, and manufactured in Africa for Africa and the world.
