JOB PURPOSE:

To drive and carry out operational and preventive maintenance of MHS vehicles.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Driving the MHS vehicle safely and chauffeuring MHS staff and official visitors to official destinations.
  2. Regularly cleaning the inside and outside of the vehicle.
  3. Transporting goods to and from the MHS warehouse and making deliveries of the same to clients’ premises/warehouses.
  4. Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and care of the vehicle.
  5. Running official errands and assisting with other office activities.
  6. Keeping accurate and up-to-date records using the vehicle and fuel log sheets.
  7. Monitoring and reporting the need for servicing of the vehicle and renewal of the insurance policy.
  8. Compiling the vehicle logbook correctly.
  9. Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least four passes, one of which must be in the English Language at Ordinary Level (UCE).
  • Possession of a valid driving license (classes BE, CM, CH, DL, DM, DH)
  • A certificate in motor vehicle repair is an added advantage
  • Certificate in Defensive Driving is an added advantage.
  • At least seven (7) years’ experience as a driver in a reputable private company or a manufacturing environment.

    4. Time management.
    5. Must be physically fit.
