Microhaem Scientifics is proud to join young leaders at the Parliament of Uganda for the National Youth Symposium, held under the theme “Building Bridges, Shaping the Future: Youth Leadership for National Healing, Accountability and Inclusive Democracy.”
The symposium was officially launched by the Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development, Hon. Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde. Led by NIMD Uganda, it has brought together more than 300 young people from across the country. Hon. Dr. Charles Ayume, Minister of State for Health in charge of Primary Health Care, was also in attendance.
Over the two-day programme, participants are exploring accountable and responsive leadership, moving youth voices into meaningful influence, and the National Youth Legislative Agenda 2026–2031. The event also marks the graduation of the fourth cohort of the Uganda Democracy Academy.
Alongside these conversations, Microhaem Scientifics Ltd, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, is offering free sickle cell screening using our Ugandan-made MicroScreen Sickle Cell Rapid Test Kit.
Knowing one’s sickle cell status helps young people make informed health and family planning decisions. Bringing screening directly to the symposium puts that opportunity where Uganda’s future leaders are already gathered.
